MILLS REFURBISHMENT

Description

The “Works” briefly comprise of:

Following flooding the building was stripped back by the insurers. Dimestage after tender was instructed to refurbish the ground floor offices, ground floor reception, 2 x sets of male and female toilets to the ground floor and an accessible toilet. Whilst on site the client requested that we undertake the refurbishment of the First Floor toilets. This works consisted of male and female to the south part of the building, male, female and accessibility toilet to the North part of the building, plus a cleaner’s cupboard. The works to the toilets had to be phased so as to not cause disruption to the tenants occupying the building. The mill was a period property and a lot of the existing features were retained. These features retained were such as the vaulted ceilings and deep recesses to the window cills and reveals. On completion of the office and toilet refurbishment we tendered a further project. This was to construct a new steel staircase with steel structure surround, part brick and part Composite Cladding and Composite roof. This was to serve all floors of the building. The staircase was constructed using modern materials, but with finishes and colours to be in keeping with the period of the mill and the planners.
